RIVE ANIMATION PRICING GUIDE

How Much Does It Cost to Hire a Rive Animator?

Rive animation pricing depends on the artwork, number of product states, interaction logic, target runtimes, and the quality of developer handoff. Use these starting prices to plan a realistic scope before requesting an estimate.

Rive animation pricing at a glance

One animated Rive iconfrom $50
Five animated Rive iconsfrom $200
Mascot animation with supplied artworkfrom $250
AI mascot with custom design and viseme setupfrom $650
Advanced interactive Rive systemfrom $1,200

These are starting prices, not fixed quotes. Complex illustration, rigging, data binding, multiple characters, and platform testing can increase the final scope.

What changes the cost of a Rive project?

Artwork and rigging

Animating clean, layered artwork is faster than designing and preparing a new character. The $250 mascot starter assumes you provide usable artwork. When you need a mascot designed, the package starts at $650 and includes the first custom mascot design.

States and transitions

An idle state plus one product state is simpler than a full assistant with listening, thinking, talking, success, error, and fallback behavior. Extra states start at $100 each, with transitions planned around real product events.

Runtime logic

State machines, view model properties, data binding, listener behavior, and reusable artboards take planning and testing. This work creates a product-ready animation system rather than a linear visual loop.

What should the quote include?

  • The final .riv source file
  • Named artboards, states, triggers, or view model properties
  • State-machine and transition planning
  • Developer notes for Web, Flutter, or React Native
  • Revision limits, delivery dates, and integration support

How to get an accurate estimate

Send your Figma or artwork, a list of required states, target platform, deadline, and examples of the intended behavior. Mention whether you need character design, lip sync, runtime data, or developer support.

Use the mascot cost calculator or send a project brief for a scope-specific estimate.

Is the lowest quote the best value?

Not always. A cheap file can become expensive when developers must rename inputs, rebuild transitions, or discover that the animation does not work in the target runtime. Compare quotes by deliverables, state logic, source-file organization, and integration support, not only by the number of seconds animated.
